Garstangs was formed in 1989 and has offices in Bolton and London.

Garstangs Bolton Office is a General Legal Practice which specialises in the areas of Crime, Road Traffic Proceedings, Family, Civil, Commercial and Property Law, Wills, Probate and Inheritance Tax Planning. The Partners have developed the business which is now one of the largest firms in the Bolton area. In 1990 the Firm entered the niche market of “White Collar” Crime, Commercial Fraud and Ancillary Civil Litigation.

Garstangs London Office was opened in 1991 initially as a niche specialist to service the growing demand of commercial fraud enquiries being received. The Firm has been, and continues to be, involved in representing defendants in cases prosecuted by the Serious Fraud Office and other Prosecuting Authorities. In October 1996 Garstangs opened a dedicated General Crime Department in London and has gained a reputation in representing persons charged in serious and complex criminal proceedings.

Garstangs has been recognised by the “Chambers Directory of The Legal Profession” as one of the leading firms of Crime and Fraud both in London and the North West of England for over 15 years.

The Firm has recently developed a department caring for the needs of the elderly and in particular the recovery of Care Home costs.
